From pipes we build ourselves a vertical strawberry garden. The pipe system will help water the plants and protect plants and fruits from pests.

Vertical gardens are easy to assemble from 50-gauge pipe, Y-pieces, and 30-degree and 45-degree angle pieces. It’s fast, cheap and space-saving.

With a clamp, the tubes with strawberries can be attached to a wall.

Once we have attached our pipe structure to the wall, we fill the pipes with high-quality garden bed soil. During the first two weeks, we should be prepared to add some soil every now and then, as the soil in the tubes will slump.

To allow excess drainage water, we drill several holes in the base at the lowest point of the vertical strawberry garden.

Facing south with hourly shade, strawberries thrive in our DIY vertical strawberry garden.
